Joanna Portelli (b.1993) is an artist from Malta, where she completed her study of Fine Arts at the Institute of Creative Arts, graduating with a BA Honours in Fine Arts.

Her background involves a variety of mediums which she has explored throughout her studies, including new media installation, video, painting, sculpture and photography. Her current practice involves public installation, video documentation, photography and painting. This media-fluidity allows Joanna to give free rein to unfettered artistic inquiry.

The motivation behind her work lies in an exploration of the intricacies of the human condition, which allow her to build layers of meaning within her processes, reflecting the drive for self-discovery that is embedded in her work.
